ATC releases accused in POF suicide attack case

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court No-II (ATC-II) on Friday released Bilal Shah, accused in Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), Wah Cantonment suicide bomb attack case due to insufficient evidence against him and adjourned the hearing into the case till November 18. The court, headed by Judge Baqir Ali Rana, is trying suspects Hameedullah Mehsood of South Waziristan, Maqsood and Bilal Shah to determine their alleged involvement in POF attacks on August 21, 2008 that claimed over 75 lives and injured100 others. Shah had submitted an application before the court for his acquittal. The court released him due to insufficient evidences. Separately, Anti-Terrorism Court No-I (ATC-I) on Friday granted bail to Sikandar Khan arrested by Industrial Area police allegedly carrying huge quantity of ammunition at Faizabad. The court, headed by Malik Muhammad Akram Awan, accepted the application of bail and granted bail to him on Rs 200,000 surety bonds. The same court also adjourned the hearing into Aabpara suicide attack case and Special Branch attack case till November 14.
